apprenticed to: Isabel Moundoughter

My main areas of interest are needle lace (reticella and punto in aria),
elizabethan costuming and embroidery.

When I was studying portraits of late 16th century women, I found that a lot of them
were wearing lovely lace ruffs and some had lovely lace trim on their hats and
lace handkerchiefs.  I then found out that there are reprints of 16th century pattern books
containing lace patterns that would have been available to the 16th century lady.  I could
purchase or order over the internet linen thread similar to what they would have used.
While watching TV, I could create a piece of lace that could have existed in the 16th century.

If this sounds interesting to you, I have instructions you can print out at
http://www.arrienne-lace.com/instructions_main.htm.
You can order linen thread from the lacemaker or lacis.com (I use 80/2 - 120/2).
You can print out patterns from my website
http://www.arrienne-lace.com/patt_home.htm
or from http://www.pbm.com/~lindahl/vinciolo/.
